এই বছর পিতৃপক্ষ শুরু হয়েছিল ১৭ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে, যা শেষ হলো আজ ২ অক্টোবর মহালয়া বা সর্বপিতৃ অমাবস্যা তিথিতে। কাল , আশ্বিন শুক্লা প্রতিপদ থেকে শুরু হবে দেবীপক্ষ। হিন্দুধর্ম অনুসারে পূর্বপূরুষের তর্পণের জন্য প্রশস্ত এক বিশেষ সময় হল পিতৃপক্ষ। মনে করা হয় প্রয়াত পিতৃপুরুষরা এই সময় উত্তরপুরুষদের হাত থেকে জল নিতে মর্ত্যে নেমে আসেন। মহালয়ার দিন তাঁরা জল পেয়ে তৃপ্ত হয়ে ফিরে যান। আজ সেক্টর ১৫ কমিউনিটি সেন্টার এ পূর্বপল্লির সদস্যরা।
